Meet Diana C. Ortiz, B.S.

Diana Ortiz graduated from the University of Utah with her Bachelor of Science in Speech and Hearing Science in 2021.  She is currently in her final year of a four-year Doctorate of Audiology (Au.D) program at Utah State University.

Diana is the daughter of Ecuadorian immigrants from the highlands of the Andes mountains. Bilingual and bicultural, Diana is fluent in Spanish. Her path to audiology was shaped by her interest in science, technology, and research—her father being a researcher himself. Diana wanted to work in a field that combined evidence-based research and technology to create positive change for people. Recognizing that implementing the latest research findings to healthcare can be a lengthy process, she wanted a career where she could actively contribute to this change. She found that opportunity in audiology.

Diana’s clinical interests include cochlear implants and vestibular audiology, areas she plans to specialize in after graduation. She is particularly focused on working with Spanish-speaking patients. When she is not working, you can find her outside. Diana loves the outdoors, especially hiking and snowboarding.
